Shine a Light - 9 October 2009

Light. An amazing thing really. It can turn the scariest darkened room into your safe comforting bedroom right before your very eyes.

Where are we blogging from? Harehills! Really? Yes, really. Harehills is where it’s at for culture, community, and connectivity. How convenient, 3Cs. It’s more than convenience, which also applies to Harehills, it is the reality. A reality that lives and breathes, but struggles to find its voice. What to do about this? Who knows? Beware of the solution folks. But, welcome the folks who want to make something happen. We don’t propose to have the solution for Harehills and the answer to how the place might raise its voice. But, we do have some crackin’ ideas on how to make a start at the myriad of potential solutions. The first bit is viewing the solution as the answer to an opportunity, not to a problem.

What ideas do we have? Well simple really....engage with the local community, businesses from everywhere and our clients at Shine.

Look out for the Shine bus, or the Shine triiibe, or the person who combines “love it” and Harehills in the same sentence. They are on a mission to change your mind, raise your aspirations or connect the two of you to make something happen.
